Buzz for Insects
Campaign Identity, Messaging
Insect populations are declining at a steady rate, posing significant threats to the natural ecosystems. The goal was to address the lack of awareness regarding the importance of insect conservation and counter existing negative biases toward insects.
After an comprehensive research, including literature studies, visual mapping and surveys, a hypothesis was developed, revealing a general lack of awareness and understanding of the issue including the existing negative biases of the people. Based on the insights, I developed a 3-phase campaign model, starting with witty messaging to challenge negative insect perceptions, followed by educational content on their importance, and ending with Call to actions to support insect conservation. A unique visual identity was created featuring a simplified insect icon symbolising urgency, supported by earthy gradient colours and typography to reinforce the message.
